Pyrebound 0.2.4

Changes & fixes:

  • moved versioning numbers to a three-part structure (Linux uses 3 and Windows/GX.games use 4 numbers, so I went with 3)
  • fixed immediate feedback UI not sending payloads and sending black screens on browser
  • fixed known crash due to persistent objects being marked as destroyed on room change (by moving to a beta version of the IDE)
  • added audio to Crone of Blades intro blade circle spawns

First NPC: Cazandir
The very first non-player-character that isn't an enemy has joined Pyrebound. Their name is Cazandir and they will deliver the previously incorporeal instructions how to proceed after the player finishes the ritual. (plus a few more small lines for flavor :) )

  • added optional animated portraits to dialogues
  • added interactable NPC spawning on ritual end that delivers further instructions instead of a disembodied text box

Cazandir, an NPC in Pyrebound, pale face covered by chains bound around it, long dark hair, two red spikes woven vertically into the chains around their head, wearing brown-grey robes with red embroidery down the front

Gamescom prep:

  • added a splash screen to the game that can be skipped with [ESC] on MKB and (Start) on Controller
  • reworked the demo end screen to look a bit more professional, including call to action for Steam wishlists (Steam page is not online yet, but it's comin')

Immediate feedback UI:

During pause, you can now find a small feedback input text field. This is meant for quick, small pieces of feedback or quick bug reports that you can just write down and send out without thinking about it too much. If you have more in-depth feedback, I appreciate any comment on the game's page, of course. :)

Entering your mail address is STRICTLY optional and I will only use it to get in touch with you if necessary.

In the interest of data transparency: nothing is sent until [SEND] is pressed. The entered text is then bundled as a package and sent to a dropbox.com endpoint along with a screenshot of the game that is recorded upon resuming the game.
No personal data is included in the package sent to drop box.
